In case you don't follow me on
Facebook or
LinkedIn, you probably haven't seen that I was recently hired with a company called BlitzMetrics.
This week is BlitzMetrics University (#BlitzU), we're learning the basics of the viral cycle and content creation and management.
Today, a super cool dude showed up. His name is
HotLou....
...and he comes up with some pretty cool stuff.
(this is Twig the Fairy, who apparently was his girlfriend)
HotLou gave us some pretty good advice. He's a Facebook marketing mogul, and knows the process of making something go viral. (Contrary to popular understanding, there is a strong formula to make this happen and HotLou can do that with just about any post).
Below are the best ones he shared. This engagement is legit
Post at the right times.
More specifically, post at 2am...
...and watch it spike between 6 and 7 in the morning.
Humans have an innate nature to do a few things:
1) They read the text, especially when it's large.
2) They want express themselves.
3) They want that expression to be original.
4) And that they think that large things are important, by their very nature.
HotLou told us to create things with sepia tones.
....just like we all do on Instagram.
He told us to figure out content that's already working and pour gas on the flames.
Having trouble finding good images? Use Reddit, says Lou.
Share as much as you can,
whenever you have a moment...
....or whenever you have any time at all...
you should be sharing good, targeted content!
You want real time sharing? Good link-sharing? Head for Twitter.
But to go viral, stay on Facebook.
Most importantly, know your audience.
...don't forget that you need to be targeting
them with original content and helping them feel like they can relate to it, and as a result, will share it.
Finally, cross-pollinate all your social channels.
Thanks, HotLou! You're the man!!
